SUMMARY:Chile Challenge 4-Wheel Drive Trail Event
DESCRIPTION:The Chile Challenge attracts 4-wheel drive vehicle operators of all experience levels to drive trails “from scenic to sinister” in a supervised\, nationally recognized\, 4-wheeling event. \n\nFamily Oriented Trail Rides to Extreme Trail Challenges\nRiverside Camping on the Rio Grande\nEvening events include Wednesday evening Pot Lock with BBQ provided by the LCFWDC\, Friday Evening Vendor Expo includes Ice Cream Social and Saturday night Raffle.\nSocial time each evening with pot luck meals\, a fire pit\, stories\n\nEach day’s trail ride is led by an experienced leader who manages the run\, helps participants complete the run\, oversees climbs over significant obstacles if needed\, and stays in communication with participants via a CB radio. There is no competition\, just the challenge of the trail. Trails vary from very easy rides\, accessible in a stock 4×4\, to some of the most extreme trails in New Mexico. See videos of some of the trails here. \nMany opportunities await you in the canyons of Sierra County. Enjoy abundant sun (and occasional wind)\, take lots of photos\, challenge yourself on various easy to hard (or even extreme) obstacles and make lots of new friends. Day and night runs are scheduled to last 4 to 6 hours. \nBring lots of water and plenty of food for what will be an action packed and enjoyable event. Canyons can change from one ride to the next due to flooding so expect the unexpected! Due to the remote location there are few spectator opportunities. \nWalk-in registration for trail runs will be available on a first-come\, first-serve basis until trail quotas are full. A per day fee is charged. \nCamping reservations are highly recommended. \nAdmission\n$45 per trail run\nRegister for Event

SUMMARY:Trinity Site Tour
DESCRIPTION:The Trinity Site is where the first atomic bomb was tested at 5:29:45 a.m. Mountain War Time on July 16\, 1945. Visitors on the Trinity Site Tour usually see Ground Zero\, “Jumbo” bomb casing\, the McDonald House\, one of the old instrumentation bunkers\, historical photos\, a Fatman bomb casing\, and part of the original crater left by the explosion revealing “Trinitite.” Anyone can drive to the tour on their own. Bring car registration\, proof of insurance\, and a photo ID. If you are in a rental car\, bring the rental car agreement and a photo ID. \nThe Stallion Gate will be open for entrance from 8am to 2pm and the site closes at 3:30. There is no food or water or other services along the route\, so come prepared. Port-a-johns are available. Riders must not leave the road due to the presence of unexploded ordnance. Photographs may be taken at the Trinity Site but not anywhere else along the route. Dogs are welcome but they must be well-behaved\, leashed and picked up after. Bring bags for dog waste. \nAdmission\nFree
